One of my favorite phrases is “Not enough time is not an excuse!” Of course, I realize you need resources to help you understand how you’re spending your time so you can stay organized and focused.

Without further ado, my three favorite tools follow below. I am not an affiliate for any of these companies – I’m just sharing them because they work for me and I know they can work for you, too.

Evernote

About: Evernote gets that life can be pretty complicated. The company develops apps and products to help both individuals and teams get work done in today’s distracted world.

“As one workspace that lives across your phone, tablet, and computer, Evernote is the place you write free from distraction, collect information, find what you need, and present your ideas to the world”, the company’s About page explains.

Pricing: “Basic” is free; “Plus” is $24.99 yearly; “Premium” is $49.99 yearly; “Business” is $120 per user, per year. (Prices are current as of 2/2016).

RescueTime lets you set alerts so you know when you spent a certain amount of time on a task or activity. You can find out how much time you’ve spent on just about everything, from meetings to email and much more. And you can even block websites that might be distracting you.

Pricing: “RescueTime Lite” is free forever; “RescueTime Premium” is available monthly ($9/month) or annually ($72/year). (Prices are current as of 2/2016).

Toggl

About: Time tracking is incredibly simple with Toggl – so easy, in fact, the company says you’ll actually use it! You can keep your time organized by projects or tags, and mark time as “billable” if you need to.

Plus, Toggl says it’s built for teams and can boost productivity of the entire group. The best part? No training needed here – it’s as easy as Twitter to use.

Pricing: “Free” is just that – free; “Pro” is $5 per user per month; “Business” is $49 per user per month, billed annually (or $59 billed monthly). (Prices are current as of 2/2016).
